Michael Goldsmith, CMP
Director of Convention Sales - Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority

Michael Goldsmith has 20 years of experience in various areas of the travel and hospitality industry. After joining the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) in 2000, he handled the corporate and incentive markets on the East Coast of the United States and Europe. Recently, Goldsmith was promoted to director of convention sales, where he is responsible for directing the sales and marketing efforts of the convention sales department as they promote Las Vegas and the Las Vegas territory as a premier convention, meeting and incentive destination to domestic and international markets.

Prior to joining the LVCVA, Goldsmith held managerial positions within the sales departments of major Las Vegas properties including the Mirage, the Aladdin Resort & Casino and the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

Goldsmith began his career as a group coordinator at Group Travel Specialists, a Tucson-based travel agency. He would later progress to positions at America West Airlines and the Boulders Resort in Scottsdale prior to relocating to Las Vegas in 1991.

He is an active in many industry organizations, most notably the Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

Goldsmith received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Arizona.
