The retail landscape is currently undergoing a major transformation. Changes in shopping venues, shopping patterns, retail mergers and acquisitions and customer expectations are major forces that are radically reshaping the retail environment. At the same time, the economic climate is bringing a slew of new pressures to bear and as real estate begins to falter, consumer credit is starting to tighten and prices are starting to rise.

Regardless, luxury retail continues to soar, and many retailers are “branding up” in this area. At the same time, Wal-Mart is struggling to make its numbers, and many other retail stores in the middle have stagnant formats that are out of step with their customer audiences. Gap, Old Navy, The Limited, Pier 1 and others must redefine themselves for a new generation of shoppers. Additionally, a wave of global retail is hitting United States shores—making competition more intense than ever before—and American retailers are expanding abroad.

As a result of all these forces, retail design has become an important strategy for differentiation, and the store experience has never been more important. Retailers are finding ways to emotionally connect with and engage shoppers—from grocery stores to upscale apparel boutiques.

Join DDI magazine and Editor-in-Chief RoxAnna Sway for this live, interactive and informative Web Seminar on the State of the Industry and learn about current conditions and emerging trends across the entire retail spectrum—including a look at the best new retail business concepts, designs and innovative retail ideas emerging today. Attend this online-only event for $99 and we will send you a FREE download of the State of the Industry written report, a $299 value.
